ABOUT JUDI

Judi was a vibrant, kind, and loving person who died unexpectedly at the age of 37. It is impossible to quantify the impact that she had on those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Judi’s spiritedness, warmth, commitment to family, and zest for life were truly unique. She was particularly adept at nurturing and exposing the gifts and talents of others while espousing the value of hard work and the pursuit of personal goals. She had a special way of making people feel respected, encouraged, and optimistic- regardless of their life’s circumstances. Judi’s example reminds us of the importance of kindness and generosity in the smallest and most profound ways.

As we all know, tragedy, in one way or another, affects everyone. After Judi’s death, those closest to her recognized that her light was too bright to be extinguished and that her example could continue to Make the World a Little Better. Judi Marvel Charities was established to honor Judi’s commitment to offering promise to others, to act in a spirit of kindness and generosity, and to valuing family relationships above all else. Her message inspires us to focus not on what has happened that may hold us back but to find what may help us to move forward. As you review our website, you will see the impact we have had on people, families, and communities. You will get to know Judi better and learn more about the affect she had on others. Most importantly, you will learn how you can follow her example and join in our organization’s mission to inspire others to realize their potential and help themselves to achieve their dreams, regardless of the personal tragedies they may have suffered.

Throughout the website, you will see Judi’s handprint on our work as she left her handprint on our lives. We welcome you to leave your handprint on the lives of others by learning more about Judi Marvel Charities and supporting people who are focused not on hardship, but on promise.

 TO HAVE SUCCEEDED

 by Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and love much; To win the respect of intelligent people And the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics And endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give one’s self; To leave the world a little better, Whether by a healthy child, A garden patch, Or a redeemed social condition; To have played and laughed with enthusiasm And sung with exultation; To know even one life has breathed easier Because you have lived…. This is to have succeeded.
