This agency provides free childcare and counseling services to any single, divorced, or separated parent who wishes continue his or her education. Parents must attend school on a full-time basis, maintain passing grades, volunteer three hours a week at Mom’s House, and attend monthly parenting classes.

Operation Smile
This volunteer-based organization provides life-altering surgeries to more than 45,000 children with correctable deformities.
Cornerstone Pregnancy Center
Through Cornerstone’s “Earn As You Learn Program,” expectant mothers earn points for attending parenting and life skills classes. Points can be redeemed for childcare items such as clothes, cribs, and car seats.
West End Neighborhood House
Funding from JMC helped acquire an additional property for LifeLines, a structured life-skills building residential program for displaced foster children.
Supporting Kids
JMC is the sole sponsor of a program that will provide a Supporting Kidds Survival Kit for every school in the Sate of Delaware. The kits are designed to educate counselors, teachers, and parents on the best ways to assist children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Easter Seals
A donation from JMC funded the construction of a handicapped accessible playground for Easter Seals clients in New Castle County.
Friendship House
Funding from JMC supports transitional housing programs designed to help motivated homeless men and women re-establish themselves as independent, self-sufficient members of society. Particular emphasis is placed on re-uniting parents with their children.
March of Dimes
Funding from JMC helped the Delaware Chapter establish a support program at Christiana Hospital for families with critically ill newborns. The program is designed to provide emotional and informational support during the child’s
hospitalization and transition home.
The Care Van
This mobile information center travels through Delaware’s neighborhoods and serves at-risk senior citizens. A staff of trained volunteers interacts directly with older adults identifying their needs and linking them to the appropriate services –all at no cost to the client.
The Children’s Special Fund and the
Family Special Fund
Both funds, under the direction of Children and Families First, are utilized when critical client needs such as clothing and medical care cannot be provided though other services. A significant percentage of recipients are foster children.
Center of Hope

A full-service Family practice Office that provides medical services to over 5,000 patients per year (70% of those served have no medical insurance and no other place to receive healthcare). The Center’s Outreach worker also assists client families in finding food, clothing, and housing.
United Cerebral Palsy of Deleware
Concerned individuals and parents of children with cerebral palsy established United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware in 1953. This small group hoped to raise the public’s awareness and special needs of children with this disability.

Helps to fund prevention, treatment, and advocacy programs for neglected/abused children and families experiencing domestic violence.
Embrace Kids Foundation
Through your contributions, JMC has funded support programs for the families of children with cancer and blood disorders (formerly The Institute for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders).

A donation from JMC helped fund shelter, food, and advocacy programs for homeless men and low income families.
Salvation Army of Delaware
Funding from JMC created a new playground and park for clients of the Salvation Army’s Early Learning Center, Emergency Housing Program, and Senior Center.

One of only two organizations of it’s kind in the country, this Newark, DE based organization specializes in palliative and end-of-life care for children with chronic and terminal conditions.
The Wellness Community
The only organization in the region dedicated exclusively to helping people address and handle the emotional component of cancer. Programs are also available for family (including children) and loved ones.
West Center City Early Learning Center
Through your contributions, JMC helped fund daycare services and before and after school educational programs for low income children in Wilmington (ages 6 weeks to 8 years)
Bernice’s Educational Day Camp
This organization provides year-round educational and recreational experiences for low income children
(ages 8-14).
Delaware Hospice
Through their New Hope Program, this organization specializes in helping children and adolescents cope with the loss of a loved one and providing emotional support during the bereavement period. Participants are also eligible to attend Camp New Hope, a four day summer camp designed to help children reconcile their loss within a traditional camp setting.
The Arc of Salem County
Through their Sheltered Workshop Program, people with disabling conditions are able to take advantage of vocational training, job placement services, extended employment, and independent living assistance.
Operation Warm
With more than 13 million American children living in poverty, without the daily essentials most of us rely on, Operation Warm provides one of the most requested items by schools and social service agencies – a new, warm winter coat. Through your generosity, a donation from JMC will provide a new winter coat to 1000 needy children in New Castle County.
Delaware Guidance Services
WDGS exists to provide quality mental health services to children, youth, and their families, regardless of their ability to pay. A grant from JMC will provide special programs designed specifically for foster children and their families.

Camp Can Do
Provided free of charge by the American Cancer Society, Camp Can-Do is a week-long camp for children with cancer. The camp gives young cancer patients a break from the hospital, in a traditional camp setting, with others who have had similar experiences.Supervising the campers are volunteer counselors who are trained to meet the physical and emotional needs of the campers.
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Delaware
Since 1997, the Candlelighters have sponsored numerous initiatives at the Oncology and Bone Marrow Units at the A. I. duPont Hospital for Children. Activities for the children and their families which include supplying educational materials and books, food for weekly parent support group meetings, monthly family pizza party socials, and an annual sibling workshop.
Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They supply these items free of charge.
Camp Can Do
Provides a safe and supportive environment for grieving children and their families. Services include peer support for grieving children and teens and their caregivers as well as training & education for schools, organizations, and health professionals.
Family Promise of Salem County
Family Promise works with a Network of Churches to help provide temporary overnight accommodations for Homeless Families. The Network Director works closely with each family building an individual plan to help the family find a home regaining their independence.
Special Olympics Delaware
The Young Athletes Program is an innovative sports play program for children ages 2 through 7 designed to introduce young children with intellectual disabilities, their peers and their families to the world of Special Olympics.

VMSC exists solely to “serve those who served” this great nation, our Veterans. They are the only non-profit agency in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas that provides a comprehensive resource center available to all veterans in need.
