Requests for funding should be initiated via a Letter of Intent. LOI should include the following information:
- Identify and describe the nonprofit organization
- Explain how the proposed project aligns with our Giving Priorities (see above).
- Outline of the project scope – number of people and area served
- Estimated cost of project
- A project timeline and identified project manager
- List of board of directors
- Statement from the IRS confirming the organization’s 501(c)3 or other tax-exempt status
If an application falls within funding priorities, JMC may request additional information regarding an organization, or proposed project or program. A site visit or interview may also be conducted.
Important Notes:
-
Generally, grants range from $3,000 to $10,000 and are made on a one-year basis.
-
The JMC board will review only one request from an organization within a twelve-month period.
-
JMC encourages potential grantees to contact us in advance of a proposal submission if you have questions about whether your request fits the current funding priorities.
